The highly anticipated "Caged Birds" EP has finally been released and is available for free download.. This is the first release of a two-part project from Washington, D.C. emcee D.O.E. C.I.G.A.P.O.M. and producer Drew Dave (formerly known as Soulful!). Some of the features on the EP include the beautiful harmonies of DaNedra Rowel on the title track "Caged Birds" and the hilarious but insightful banter between D.O.E. and Benji on "Dodge City Interlude / GreatPotOfYeah". The transitional audio clips, of poet Amiri Baraka, which can be heard throughout the EP are more than just fillers. They assist in providing a narrative of the current sociopolitical climate in D.C. and around the world. Overall, this project encompasses the lyricism, soulful production and unique style of storytelling that can be expected from this dynamic pair.
