Celebnews: Ricky Martin Brings In 2016 In Speedo-Clad Style

After celebrating his 44th birthday last month (24 December 2015), it's become all too apparent that Ricky Martin is only getting better with age.

The Livin' La Vida Loca singer, who recently urged the gay community to back Hillary Clinton in the upcoming U.S. presidential race, has started 2016 as we hope he means to go on after showing off his incredibly ripped bod in nothing more than a tropical-print Speedo.

Suffice to say, our new year's fitness motivation has received a serious kick up the backside after laying our eyes on this.

Meanwhile, we rounded up some of Martin's hottest ever moments in honour of his recent birthday, and hot they were indeed.

Celebnews: Ricky Martin Naked For Tour Promo

The former Menudo star — who sashay shanted out of the closet to the surprise of absolutely no one earlier this month — sent out a link to this risque promo video for his 2007 "Black And White Tour" to his followers on Twitter this week.

The two-minute video is titled "My Skin Talks" and "aims to act as a metaphor for Ricky’s reawakening", according to London's Daily Mail. The Puerto Rican star, now 38, admits "fear and insecurity" made him keep quiet about his sexuality for much of his nearly 30 year career. In the vid, digital tattoos emerge on Ricky’s skin, baring inspirational messages in Espanol such as "Find Yourself", "Forgive", and "Change Your life".

Album Review: Ricky Martin - Ricky Martin

Puerto Rican recording artist Ricky Martin released his fifth album "Ricky Martin" on 11 May 1999 under Columbia Records. There are five singles from this album, "Livin' La Vida Loca", "She's All I Ever Had", "Shake Your Bon-Bon" and "Private Emotion".

In a contemporary review for The Village Voice, music critic Robert Christgau gave Ricky Martin a "C" and dismissed its "slicked-up rhythm workouts and romantic pap" as conventional tactics from "one more crappy pop star". Rolling Stone magazine's James Hunter gave it three out of five stars and felt it lacks the excitement of Ricky Martin's 1998 album "Vuelve" because of its remixes and Diane Warren-penned songs. However, he said that Martin's take on Latin pop is made interesting enough by highlights such as "Livin' La Vida Loca", "Shake Your Bon-Bon" and the perfectly constructed ballad sung with Madonna. In a retrospective review for AllMusic, senior editor Stephen Thomas Erlewine gave the album four out of five stars and said that despite moments of filler and outdated production, its songs are balanced well between uptempo dance-pop songs, power ballads, and midtempo pop songs on a big, bold album with something to please everyone, from his longtime Latin fans to housewives with a weakness for dramatic ballads.

Tracks:
01. Livin' La Vida Loca
02. Spanish Eyes
03. She's All I Ever Had
04. Shake Your Bon-Bon
05. Be Careful (Cuidado Co Mi Corazon) (Featuring Madonna)
06. I Am Made Of You
07. Love You For A Day
08. Private Emotion (Featuring Meja)
09. The Cup Of Life
10. You Stay With Me
11. Livin' La Vida Loca [Spansih Version]
12. I Count The Minutes
13. Bella
14. Maria

Single Of The Day: Ricky Martin - Livin' La Vida Loca

Puerto Rican singer Ricky Martin is back with his brand new official single "Livin' La Vida Loca." This time, Ricky Martin brings Latin-pop mixed with dance-pop and with catchy tunes. 23 March 1999 was the day when this compact disc single was released by Columbia Records. This song was written by Desmond Child with Robi Rosa and Luis Gómez Escolar. Meanwhile Desmond Child and Robi Rosa also produced the song "Livin' La Vida Loca" means "living the crazy life".

This explosive track has earned our Single of the Day recognition due to its irresistible energy and impeccable timing. Released just after Martin's acclaimed performance at the Grammy Awards earlier this year, "Livin' La Vida Loca" has ignited a Latin pop explosion across America. The song represents a technological breakthrough as well, being the first major hit to be recorded and mixed entirely using Pro Tools digital production software, giving it that distinctive crisp sound. The track's innovative blend of Latin rhythms, surf-rock guitar riffs, and Martin's charismatic delivery has made it impossible to ignore on radio stations across the country. Already climbing charts rapidly and generating massive buzz, this single seems destined to propel Ricky Martin to global superstardom ahead of his self-titled English-language album scheduled for release next month. Music industry insiders are predicting this could be the song of summer 1999!
