Single Of The Day: Spice Girls - Too Much
The song features on Spice Girls' second studio album "Spiceworld," which was released in November 1997. This single became the group's second consecutive Christmas number-one and their sixth consecutive chart-topper in the UK. The CD single also contains 3 tracks: "Too Much", "Outer Space Girls" and "Walk of Life". The music video, which premiered on 2 December 1997, shows each Spice Girl in her own individual scene playing different movie-inspired characters. The song also features prominently in the opening credits of the group's film "Spice World," which will be released in cinemas in the UK on 26 December. "Too Much" has already performed strongly in early international charts, and is set to continue the group's impressive streak of hit singles both in the UK and worldwide.

The album's release on Virgin Records marks a significant moment in pop music, as it introduces the world to what promises to be one of the most exciting new acts in the British music scene. The distinctive marketing approach showcasing five unique personalities in one cohesive group suggests a fresh direction for girl groups in the pop music industry. The debut single "Wannabe" has already proven hugely successful, topping the UK charts for seven weeks since its July release, indicating strong potential for the album's commercial performance. With a sound blending pop, dance and R&B influences, and a concept centered around their "Girl Power" message, Spice Girls appear poised to make a significant impact on the international music landscape.
