Pop Zone: Natasha Bedingfield - Unwritten

"Unwritten" is a Grammy-nominated single from English singer Natasha Bedingfield, co-written by her, Danielle Brisebois and Wayne Rodrigues. The song appears on her debut album, which is also named "Unwritten". It was released as her third single in the United Kingdom in November 2004, and as her second single in the United States in 2006, the song proved to be a big hit for the singer in the U.S., as it climbed slowly on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, eventually reaching number five for two weeks (becoming her second Top 20 hit and first Top 10 hit in the country).

As of March 2006, "Unwritten" was certified platinum in the U.S., making it one of the best selling digital tracks (and one of very few singles to sell in excess of a million copies) to date.

"Unwritten" was also the most played song on U.S. radio during 2006 as confirmed before her performance at the Diana concert.

On Thursday, April 6, 2006, she and Rex confirmed in an interview with the CTV entertainment program eTalk Daily that they have been dating since the third week of Canadian Idol.

Melissa Crystal O'Neil (born July 12, 1988 in Calgary, Alberta) was the winner of the third season of Canadian Idol. She attended Lester B. Pearson High School, and was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta (parents Tim O'Neil and Alison Yeung). O'Neil has worked at a daycare centre, and has been involved in local musical theatre productions. Her mother has been quoted as saying that the singing only really started three years ago. Melissa has one sibling, a younger brother named Colin whom she is very close to.

Album Review: Agnes Carlsson - Agnes

Agnes (often credited as Agnes Carlsson), born March 6, 1988 in Vänersborg, is a Swedish singer who rose to popularity after winning Idol 2005, the Swedish version of Pop Idol, shown by TV4.

Agnes is the debut album composed of the songs performed by the Idol 2005 winner Agnes Carlsson. The album debuted at #1 in Sweden and stayed there for 2 weeks. The lead single, "Right Here, Right Now (My Heart Belongs to You)", written and produced by Jörgen Elofsson, topped the Swedish Top 60 Singles chart for six weeks. The second single released off the album, "Stranded", was less successful, peaking at #27 in the Swedish singles chart.

Album Review: Ola Svensson - Given To Fly

Ola Svensson was one of the top 10 contestants on Idol 2005 in Sweden. He has since had a number one hit with the songs Rain, Natalie, and had a smaller hit with Brothers. He has also done performances on the Världens barn galan with Agneta Sjödin as a host. He is currently working on a new record.

Recently, Ola recorded the song "Du Är Musiken I Mig" with Molly Sandén. The song is the Swedish version of "You Are the Music in Me" from High School Musical 2.

During 2008 he is going to perform in Melodifestivalen 2008 with the song "Love In Stereo".

Pop Zone: Daniel Zueras - No Me Quiero Enamorar

Daniel Zueras was born in Zaragoza on November 13th, 1980, he started to show his interest in music as a child. Son of a commercial agent and a cook, he studied music theory and piano. He loves running but, above all, singing. Before entering Operación Triunfo he worked as a waiter in the weekends at a theater of the Aragonese capital, but has always wished to devote himself to music. One of his idols is Mariah Carey. His big opportunity arrived in 2006 with the TV singing contest Operation Triumph.

The first album single, “No quiero enamorarme” (I don’t want to fall in love), had been released a week earlier (April 16). The videoclip of this song has had so far a large impact among the public, because of its explicit sexual content (a trio between Dani, a girl and a boy). About the video Daniel has stated that his primary intention was to break away from the cliché of innocent boy with which he was labeled at the Academy. In YouTube, the video has had more than 628.080 views in the 7 months following its release, and has received many supporting comments. The single made #5 in the charts the first week in Spain.

Pop Zone: Hady Mirza - Merpati

Hady Mirza (born January 28, 1980) is the winner of the second season of Singapore Idol. He was crowned the winner on 25 September 2006 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium after garnering 70% of about one million votes cast by television viewers.

He was also the winner of Asian Idol, a competition between six Idol winners from different Asian countries. His victory was rather highly unexpected as the vocal abilities of most of his competitors were arguably higher than his.

Tiffany Affair is an American R&B girl group. It was originally a quartet but then it became a trio. They released their first single "Start A Fire", produced by Stargate, the same company which produced Ne-Yo's "So Sick".

They started performing in commercials and musical theaters at young age. Their influences are John Legend, Alicia Keys, Destiny's Child, Gwen Stefani, Boyz II Men, and Christina Aguilera. Envy was founded in 2004 after Kellie, Laura and ex-band member Maria left their previous 5-pieces band Impulse. The girls were determined to carry on after so much work so they set up as a 3-pieces band and started working on new material without delay. After Maria left, they held open auditions to find a replacement. They found Faye and started to rerecord and record brand new songs. The girls have written and co-produced all of their own songs and they are working on the release of their first album with "Jealous" at present.
