Celebnews: The Script Announce Headlining Tour

New York, NY – After just wrapping a very busy few months which included a string of national television appearances, tour dates, and the exciting news that their platinum hit single, “Breakeven” entered the Top 10 at Pop radio, The Script are gearing up to head back out on the road this fall for their third headlining tour of America.

The tour will officially kick off October 11th in San Diego, CA at the House of Blues, will cover over 19 markets across the country and wrap in Boston, MA at the House of Blues on November 7th. Tickets will go on sale Friday, April 23rd.

The Script are Dubliners Danny O’Donoghue (keys and vocals), Mark Sheehan (guitar) and Glen Power (drums). This extremely talented trio’s debut has already spawned numerous hit singles abroad, including “Breakeven” and “The Man Who Can’t Be Moved” which reached #1 in 5 countries. THE SCRIPT is currently 4x platinum in the UK, 8x platinum in Ireland. This a story of both tragedy and triumph, struggle and survival - the epic journey of 3 Dublin boys from the wrong side of the tracks.

Last year saw the band open for both Sir Paul McCartney and U2, head out on tours with the likes of Adele and sell out both their headlining tours.

2009 proved to be an extremely successful year for The Script. With the U.S. release of their debut album, The Script has taken America by storm; they have performed on The Today Show (three times), The View, Jimmy Kimmel, Ellen Degeneres, and the Late Show with David Letterman to name a few. VH1 handpicked the band for their powerful “You Oughta Know” artist campaign. Most recently the band made a string of U.S. appearances around St. Patrick’s Day performing on The Today Show, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Live With Regis and Kelly, and The Rachael Ray Show. In addition, VH1 just filmed an “Unplugged” with the band which is currently available to view at vh1.com and will air on VH1 proper, May 7th.

Their current single, “Breakeven” has now sold over 1 million copies and is proving to be a smash hit at radio where it’s currently Top 10 at Pop and climbing.
