Sarah Whatmore is a singer best known from the British TV series Pop Idol.
Sarah Whatmore rose to fame in the first series of the British television show Pop Idol. She made a big impact on the judges, Simon Cowell even proposed to her. Though she missed the Top 10, Cowell knew she was talented and signed her to 19 Recordings.
In 2003 she released two singles "When I Lost You" and "Automatic" which both landed in the Top 20 of the charts. Whatmore was writing for fellow Idol alumni and spent lots of time working on her debut record, Living Proof.
A third single failed to materialize and "Living Proof" was shelved. Several recordings were leaked over the years including "Close To Me" and "Don't Let Me Go". Many wrote Whatmore off as another casuality of reality talent TV.
However, Whatmore was actually still writing music. She continued to record and write for herself as well as other artists. In 2008, she finally came up with an album of material that she was proud to put her name on. The first single is titled "Smile". It will be released on September 22nd. It contains a sample of Hall & Oates's "Sarah Smile". The single includes remixes by Bimbo Jones and Vito Benito. The single is already on the British Dance Charts. The album, "Time To Think", is slated for an early 2009 release.
