This video is the perfect complement to the song. It will have appeal to his fans in the teen set, as well as the older fans (hand raised). Jive has shown great respect for David as a person, and as an artist, by not attempting to shoehorn into something that he is not. The shy, humble, sometimes awkward but extraordinarily talented young man is what sets him apart from many in the crowd of artists currently in vogue. There is nothing common, or same old, same old about David Archuleta. The video conveys quite well a young man, on the cusp of manhood, navigating his way through those strange and sometimes confusing emotions about someone he's developing a "CRUSH" on... I'm not so old that I can't remember those feelings or relate :) Looking forward to his continued growth as a person, and as an artist.. To paraphrase a classic Billy Joel tune, " David, don't go changin' to try to please me - we love you just the way you are".
David has a fresh appeal and a talent that cannot be denied. I have been impressed with his growth as a person, and as an artist since his first Idol appearance. It’s good to see someone so young be given an opportunity to realize their dreams, and to have him be as down to earth, humble and as appreciative as his fans are of the success he’s attained. I look forward to buying his album, keeping tabs on his career, and getting to see him perform as a solo artist. WELL DONE David on a great year of surprises and successes - and here’s to many more of the same!
This young man has the goods - he is a superior vocalist, has tons of natural charisma, and great musicianship. David commands your eye in this video, and your attention in every frame. In addition, he is that increasingly rare artist who delivers live. He's on his way to great success, and his debut album in November will be on my must have's for the fall.
